- M.Tech in Construction Technology and Management
- M.Tech in Environmental Engineering
Program Educational Objectives
- M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)
(1) An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
(2) An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
(3) Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
(4) An ability to understand the behavior of geomaterials under different loading and site conditions; and think critically to evaluate problems scientifically for planning and designing of geotechnical engineering systems, components or processes as per relevant codes of practice, user requirements and constraints by using various software, modern computational tools, lab tests, field tests, fundamental theories and analytical methods.
PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
(1) To prepare the graduates of the program for their careers as good geotechnical engineers with professional, ethical and societal responsibilities in research, academics, construction, consultancy, design development etc. which would thereafter enable them to develop team-spirit, entrepreneurial abilities, managerial and leadership qualities.
(2) To impart practical perspectives of geotechnical engineering in order to propose techno-economically and practical solutions to complex geotechnical problems for collaborative and multidisciplinary projects.
(3) To groom the graduates of the program to plan, innovate, design and execute a part or whole geotechnical system with an intelligent understanding and scientific information available in the relevant books, articles and codes of practice for construction and maintenance of civil engineering structures.
